Endless debate

I feel that Reservations should be stopped in India, when an upper caste person stops asking a person's last name before being his friend or stop a lower caste person from entering temples or even from getting water from a community well. True, these things happen everyday in Indian villages and a slight variation of that also happens in Corporate India. Using Mr.Jethmelani's comments, unless present wrong doings based on caste are also completely stopped, reservations should not be stopped. If you want to stop something, try to stop looking down upon people who are trying to make a career or a life in difficult situations. People who are smart and intelligent will always do well no matter where they study, work or live. Caste is so important in India, so is religion. With so many different entities to be taken care off, shouldn't upper caste Indians feel a moral responsibility for the failure of the system. I feel one should question himself, if he or his family being totally indiscriminative to others, not just based on Caste, but also on labour, religion, Gender etc. If there is no evidence, then I would say having reservations is harming the development or growth of india.
