Essential services like power nd water at a premium, thanks to nepotism, corruption and lack of civic sense on the part of the very same people who are supposed to be the custodians. Women and children are exploited and violated. Patriotrism is at a premium and even a small section of the armed forces unconscionably pilfer and sell official / military secrets. Looters and other criminals having right connections get scot free and innocent people are put to untold miseries. Politicians eager to perpetuate their hegemony often take controversial and questionable decisions affecting the masses and and the country's progress and integrity.
