I could see both IT and BPO industry exploits their employees. In this case, it is not British, like 50 years back, it is greedy (mostly high caste/class) indians who exploit vulnerable fellow Indians. Let me ask one question: What is the profit margin of this industry? Around 45%. How much is the salary component? 20-25%? What products are they manufacturing and selling and what is the capital investment? It is all our 8 hour day and nothing else that got billed to Global clients and we are paid peanut salary of 2 hour money that we make. What is this called? 100% Pure EXPLOITATION. No other big alternatives at the moment, and hence they are surviving. Unless, they treat employees as partners, they are going to fail miserably - all the top Indian IT and BPO veterans, foreign companies seem better option.
