Mortgage the nation.
That is how Japan prospered after the IInd war.
Undoubtedly the Japanese blood and sweat in themselves made the country tick and accounted for in the international arena of successful economies.
But at what cost ?
Till today, to the best of knowledge of Chanakya, Japan is forbidden from forming its own army/navy/airforce.
They still have to do as directed by the yankees who bombed the former to end the war.
The emperor had tears in his eyes when Japan surrendered.
Almost the whole nation was in tears.
If you want to live with dignity, it is likely you may have to sleep under the stars on some occasions, perhaps often hungry.
That is the price you pay for your independence.
