Mumbai rains batter India image.
by Dr.Rajendra Nayak on Aug 03, 2005 11:44 PM

I donot understand why we should have an inferiority complex? Let the world think anything about us why should we bother. Every businessman of the world is falling on to his knees to sell to 1 billion population.
Every country has faced disasters. We didnot call for the rain. The developmental activities were wrong is talking afterwards. Some measures could have been taken by 3 p.m. on 26th of July. The people including many so called intellectuals donot observe Nature channels which describe nature's fury which are often worse than our Mumbai.
So anybody telling us that we cannot our people is utter nonsense wherein tornadoes, hurricanes, cyclones, snow fall, rain, earthquakes kill large number of people all over the world. We should up and tell the world that there are 150 lakhs people living in a small area and 930 mm of rainfall in 24 hours can cause devastation anywhere on earth. This might have happened when man didnot live in a crowded manner at this place. They must have lived in the hills. So this is one of the records for the future like many western countries with very thin population face calamities but here the number is gigantic where some donot listen to dangers.
