The PWD mindset
by Nagendra Pratap Singh on May 01, 2005 12:02 AM

We need this PWD mindset for some more time I feel ( I may be wrong though). Any modern/ultra modern development is ultra expensive. India lacks infrastructure and a lot of it has to be built with the limited means.
I don't approve the works of lots of architects, both in India and overseas. I have seen them waste lots of space in prime locations. Extra expense on buildings should be minimised. The cities of Sydney and Montreal are still suffering from the extra taxes they have to pay for maintaining the unused facilities they made at the time of olympics.
As for Indian architects, MOST (not all) of them join this because they cannot get admission in other engineering trades.
