Fifty-fifty
by Shankar Panday on Aug 25, 2007 09:18 PM

Dr Guha understood India 50-50. Hindi films are Urdu. Dr Guha fails to recognized Bollywood is used extremely Islamicised, and being a Bengali its a shame he resents Sanskritized Hindi which is more akin to his Bengali. Again, Guha talks about Hindu right wingers and fails to even touch on the subject of rise of madressas all around India, and Talibanisation of the neighborhood which is bound to affect India. Guha fails to dwell on the effects of partition and millions of Bengalis & Punjabis on the streets, and mass scale ethnic cleansing of Hindus from E and W Pakistan. The book is bound to be a 50-50 perception of India.
