Police, Electoral and Administrative reform
by RajKumar SIngh on Aug 16, 2007 02:31 AM

If India wants to get rid of the corruption and failure of the delivery mechanism then we must have the police reform, the electoral reform and the administrative reform. Economic reform can benefit the Indians to a certain extent but for India to become a true democratic country where liberty, equality, meritocracy and true freedom of expression exist we need to reform those bodies as quickly as possible. But in India that is not easy. When Manmohan became the PM he stated that he will come out with the Administrative reform. It is more than 3 years and yet that reform has not seen the light of the day. And look at how the police reform is going on. December 2006 was the deadline set by the Supreme court to bring about the Police reform but again we have the frustrations standing in our face.
