I can say this is not true, even people who did not own land did get decent food. Think you mentioned one of the problems which India has not had the guts to tackle and that is "population explosion" , you granny had 12 kids ?? a few million such grannys and we can easyli add 30-40 million, thats Indias problem, major problem.
