Prem Mohan has raised a very apt issue. Millions of White collars in B and C class organizations as well as private professional service providers are the muted suffering majority whose earnings reduce with inflation.
When our public represeantatives shell out largess to Govt employees from public money - a. they compare with the A class companies who are just handful, comparing with the vast number of B/C class companies. b. never assess - whether the return to public is at all in proportion to the public money spent on them c. productivity and responsibility of govt. employees vis-a-vis those in private sector
If our public rep.s took public accounting seriously and accordingly pruned numbers and rationalized the salaries of govt. emplyees, non-productive public expenditure would have been cut as well as country-wide parity of wages / earnings could emerge. That could singly contribute in controlling inflation and keeping the economy on steady course.
