I have different story to share. Though it started in bad shape but ended beautifully. I started getting a credit card statement apx 1.5 years bacl and it showed a credit amount of Rs 400 plus. Since I have not applied for a card nor received one, I intimated the same telephonically to customer care of HSBC.
Now yeaterday after more than a year is passed, I received another statement with a debit of Rs 3500 pls in my name. I emailed to customer service explaining the whole issue. Within 30 hours I got a response from HSBC that they are zeroing on the statement and apologised for the inconvinience.
What a promt action and good behavious.
Actually I owe a Gold card from ICICI and touch wood, did not face a single problem as of today.
So not a bad tale to share, hope that it must have come as a breather in so many woes filled mails and experiences.
