NRI's
by navneeta v on Nov 21, 2008 01:50 AM

The fact of the matter is that if all the NRI's went back to India there would not even be room to make one step outside your door-if you were so fortunate to have a dwelling.
People make their choices. Some want to go abroad and others want to stay in the homeland. But for the most part there is blame on both sides. Many homelanders are quite jealous that they did not have the opportunity to go abroad and so bad mouth those who have. Similarly, there are those NRI's who have a tendency to bad mouth their own country and countymen which is quite shameful. Only those of us who have the dignity and decency to be beyond such rubbish are the lucky ones who are able to be comfortable in our own skin and with our own decisions. Going back to the first point though, India had better come up with a solution to the gross over-population of the country. Only then will they be able to make the country better as was discussed in the movie "aniyan". Until then there is really not much hope of it really gaining in any aspect. However much it has changed that problem is still there and only growing. I was shocked to recently discover that 50% of the population is UNDER 25. That means that there were only half the number of people a mere 25 years ago. How revolting that this could blow so out of proportion!
