In India also there are private colleges where admission is strictly on basis of Merit. BITS Pillani is top most Private Engineering college where only criteria for admission is merit.Without any grant from Govt, BITS Pillani is a institute not less than any good IIT. The fee structure is also very comparable with government funded IITs.So,All fingers are not same. If there is a will there is a way.
