Sometimes non-development is good
by chethak krishnappa on Sep 04, 2007 08:30 AM

Belgaum or any other small town in India will have a charm of its own until they get developed and become economic zones. Then it will become a place for traffic, dirt and malls. Classic examples are Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore. Development is good only if it is equally balanced among all regions not just concentrated in few places like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. I feel the real development of India is when people need not have to leave their home town in search of livelihood but get it right there.
