RE:Delhi radhani is strange
by on Jun 27, 2007 05:39 PM

our friend Mr.Ashok in his above message is saying that there was some ramaswamy who used to say that he is a south Indian.I always introduce myself to any foreigner as an Indian.
But within India when i introduce myself if the person to whom i introduce is a North Indian he will certainly ask from which part of india when i used to say Madras(now i say chennai)he will ask from proper madras?I reply there is no improper madras. This is because people in the north those who even have a proper education but bad in history nd geography still live in the british India when whole of or say the major portion of peninsular India used to be madras presidency so anyone from south India is a madrasi be it a tamilian, malayalee,Telugu speaking or kannada speaking or konkoni, tulu etc. Many even now do not know that India has been divided into states on the basis of languages.Indians from the north hardly know any south Indian language. They think everyone should know hindi but he/she will not learn tamil or assamese or telugu etc.
