You say so because the Indian perception is that children are the personal property of their parents. In our country most people become parents without the mental, emotional and financial preparation for bringing up a child.Children are brought up as an investment to financially secure the future of their parents. Physical and mental torture of children is rampant in every household. So many children run away from home every year to escape beatings and poverty. So many children commit suicide every year because they could not cope with their studies.Parents try to impose their own ambitions on the children. Childrens' achievements are supposed to increase your social status.Instead of trying to understand the child, parents load him with their unrealistic expectations. The government should pass stringent laws forbidding parents to physically and mentally abuse children Besides government also should make it mandatory for each married couple to undergo counselling related to parenting. As regards your observtion that most of the children are very smart and talk like elders, all depends on the environment they are being brought up in and we elders are the ones who create that environment for them.Children do as they learn from their parents. Stop thinking of kids as your property. They are human beings . They did not ask you to bring them into this world. You are the one who responsible for their birth. Do not overload them with your own failed ambitions. Be an example to them
