Resume needs to genuinely represent the candidate's strength
by on Feb 28, 2007 12:37 AM

A resume needs to accurately portray a candidate's skills. This makes it easier for an organization to identify whether the candidate is a good fit for them.

An embellished resume(or a completely fake one) reflects poorly on the integrity of the candidate. It is an affront to all the decent, hard-working men and women of this country. People ought to be proud of their accomplishments and contributions, however minisclue they might be. It is always a good feeling to show up in an interview, hand them your resume and answer their questions knowing fully well that nothing could go wrong since truth is on your side.

It is important not to approach an interview with a view to 'somehow' get the job. It is this desperate feeling that causes folks to fabricate their resume. Remember that a job interview is also an opportunity for the candidate to identify if the organization is going to be a good fit for him/her.

A strong nation is built from the quality of its citizens. Hard-working, honest, exemplary citizens make the nation proud. If we stand true to our beliefs we will make India one of the finest nations in the world. Let us be truthful in portraying our accomplishments and we will prevail.
