more elaboration on time duration

Actually, one gets 25 seconds to talk uninterrupted. It is within that time that you have to deliver your goods, in well-framed sentences punctuated with facts.
From my experience, an event called Just-A-Minute(JAM) was very useful in developing those skills as the rules are pretty tight for JAM.
