I am a management consultant, and conducting phone interviews is a part of my job profile. I do not competely agree with the guide listed here.
For starters, there's a mention of lack of visability (body language, personality) and then you say jump straight to the point. If someone did that with me when they want a job, I'd hang up right away! There has to be a balanced intro- a friendly intro, leading right to the point.
and there are lots more issues!
on second thoughts, maybe the work culture is very different in India and UK.
