Managing your child's temper tantrums
by SONALI on Nov 13, 2006 07:48 PM

Hello,
Yu are right in saying that encouraging a child's good behaviour is a solution to tantrums.

It has always worked for my 7 yr old daughter, she needs a load of assuarance that I love and respect her feelings too.

More often when I praise her friends and cousins in in her presence....I always go back to her and explain to her that even she has the same good qualities as them....and how they all are equally good children. Hugging and spending quality time with your child leaves them a very composed and comfortable and mentally healthy individual too..very important for their academic and general progress.

I gift her everytime with books or knowledgeable toys to reward her achievements in school. She loves these. Sometimes with things she needs anyways, like new clothes, shoes etc, making them appear like rewards for good behaviour.

Apologise to your child if yu realise a mistake on your part,as this teaches them to do the same to others and hence they grow up to be a
good Student, good Friend, good Sibling,Good Person!
The rewards of taking these and more efforts in early days of the childs growing period are amazing to reap in the later life!
