As i write this the sensex has dropped steeply sheding more than 500 points within few hours of trading. Looks like this correction trend is far from over. I'm told that the FII are selling their shares for various reasons. So what does a investor do at this point of time and especially if he wants to invest his money somewhere? At this current trend its a diffucult question to answer. The questions to be answered are by the investor himself. Is he looking for a short term gain or can he stay invested for a long time? If he is looking for a short term investment and expects a considerable gain within it, its not possible.
Its better of for the investor to wait and watch what happens at the stock market in the coming two or three weeks. Mutual Funds are the flavor of the season, i think its a safe bet in the current situation. He can pick up a fund depending on his appetite for risk.
