The UK government needs to lower visa fees for students already in the country. Any effort on the part of the university to keep talented students on to continue studies will be a waste of time otherwise. I am appalled that the Home Office directive on increasing visa fees for overseas students has been slipped under the net with no information or consultation. Who wants to spend a months budget on staying in a country whose government patently sees Indian and other overseas students as easy cash cows?
