A UK education - OXFORD or any other UK college

Editor,

My question to you is... we have all the universities vying for the Indian Student. The primary reason most of them tell.. is that they want to expand their Universities reach...blah blah...its endless. The real reason according to me is they are not able to find suitable no. of candidates to fill the seats. You can verify as a separate exercise the difference in fees that the overseas student has to pay over the local student. The difference is not justified by better teaching.

We Indians as usual think the overseas qualification as the be all and end all of higher studies. You may very well ask who am i to tell this sort of 'Bhashan". Its not me, my brother did his MSc in the University of Essex. He passed out with distinction. Sadly for him, wherever he approached to do his further studies (be it Phd) or search for a job.. the unwritten requirement was the candidate should either be from UK or the Eurozone.

If this is what it boils to what is the point of spending a fortune in your studies when the opportunities are not there or to word it better, the opportunities are not given.
