I am presently working as an Equity Research Analyst in New Delhi. I would say that work experience is not necessary before doing MBA but you must have knowledge of what is happening in the corporate world.
Moreover, you must know what is demanded out of your area of preference either marketing or finance or any other discipline.
That is my view and i think i have been successful with that mindset.
