SPEAKING BETTER ENGLISH
by Inez on Jul 21, 2006 06:45 PM

Your article covered a good many points - and inadequate vocabulary IS one of them. However, the major issue most speakers of English as a second language make is that they think in their mother tongues and then translate it into spoken english. this leads to mistakes in syntax, redundancies and incorrect grammar. Spoken english is also simple, so stay away from 'big' words and use short sentences.
