Point Missed Out
by RANA BASU on Dec 29, 2006 04:32 PM

The most important point in respect to selecting a used apartment / house (resale) should be to check the ownership status of the flat or house. The intending seller may have been selling the unit which is already sold/hypothecated or pledged elsewhere. Theefore, the first thing a prospective buyer must do is to approach the Land Registry Office and do a "15 year searching" after paying the requisite fees and obtain a certificate from them.
