Indians welcoming Indians
by sd on Aug 09, 2006 10:32 PM

Sounds good. "Indians welcoming Indians' But what is the reality? It is no surprise that people are NOT welcome by the locals when they leave homelands and go to alien lands. The surprise is, and what I observed, that it is the settled Indians that do not welcome Indians. An american passer-by would at least nod at you and smile a 'hi'irrespective of what he feels from inside, but not the Indians especially when they see another Indian. Once it was said that one feels glad when one encounters his kith & kin abroad. It is not the case of our clever boys settling abroad. They would not like to talk to their own, once they r settled abroad. Sounds ridiculous, but that is what an Indian traveller observes abroad. Of course, there are community gatherings and all that once in a while. But it is all official and really does not come from the heart.
