Remember the following
1.Please give 10 to 15% tip to your taxi driver. It is compulsory. Also in every restaurant where you have food once you are in US.
2.During take off and landing your ears might hurt. You can carry a chew on gum or just swallow to equalize pressure on both sides of your eardrum.
3.Learn a few things about cooking.
4.Carry a perfume. The apartments are airtight so your clothes will smell of onion. Espcailly students in Northeast in the winter.
5.Can carry a small gift for your advisor. Strictly simple.
6.Minimum 10-14 pairs of underclothes and sox. You will be doing laundry once a fortnight.
7.Try to develop a friend circle comprising of American and Indian friends.
