why California? CA is a very expensive place for students. There are some very good high ends schools in CA but very expensive. It is advisable to show 2 years of total expenses in your bank account, if not posssible atleast one year expences. As for as getting is part time job is concerned, you can only work on campus for 20 hrs/week. Payrate depends on what kind of job you do, but if you are living in CA, part time on campus job is not going to be enough to take care of your expences.
