You can get a student loan in the US, however you do need a local guarantor. Whether or not your H1B status will prevent you being a guarantor, you would have to verify that with financial institutions. Try searching for 'international student loan' on google and follow the pointers. Make sure you use a reputable financial institution and compare terms.
