as a current student of an IIT and having gone through the rigour of IIT-JEE, i feel this is an atrocious move on part of the selection commitee.for 50 years IITs have built their reputation on the toughness of IIT-JEE and the ruthless competition.now using class 12 results as a basis for selection will surely dilute the whole process.I feel in 2yrs the officials will realise their blunder and hopefully revert back to the 2 tier system...which is rather a trademark of IITs.
