What is the motive behind this move ? If it's to bring down the trauma or burden on students vying for few coveted seats, then the move have failed. It'll still be there. Why is it that we in India feel so pressed to reform something which is already the most superlative example of excellence india produced in post-colonial era. Except the move of 60% board exam limit , all other moves seems like "Wrong Solutions to wrong Problems".Why should the teething competetion for IIT's be a problem to anyone. If something is Good, there's bound to be more competetion.Short Right Ups are bound to push the JEE preparation through Rote ,which'll be a very Big expense on the Quality of JEE. It's once again a move from dyed-in-wool socialists who weren't at ease with IIT's achieving a hallowed status in india and abroad, with only a "select" few getting in.They want to make it a social movement.Though their "Good" intentions are not be questioned but their solution to the problem is offcorse highly debatable.Instead of focussing on decreasing the level of competence required , the move should have aimed at enable more and more to achieve the that competence to compete at that level.
