Living alone..
by Niveditha on Oct 25, 2005 07:21 PM

Hi,

I am Niveditha,24,working as a software engineer in
Amsterdam.

For me living alone has been an amazing experience ..... it has to be for a person who has never been away from home before and having such a wonderful family as I do where everything is just taken care of without my knowledge.

I have become a responsible individual now I guess, in the sense I think a hundred times before buying anything, I try to get up early and be on time to the office (without somebody having to push me into the bathroom..which is the case when I am with my family), I have become an excellent cook, I manage all the money matters by myself.

My stay was arranged by my company so did not have to worry abt that...but then I miss my maid a lot..whenever I am cleaning & cooking.
I think every one should be on their own for atleast an year, you become confident and self-reliant by doing so.Everytime you have a problem u tend to think on your own as to how to tackle it instead of asking advices from friends and family...which is a confident booster. And also you will know the value of money, family , friends. But loneliness bites sometimes but then music and TV comes to rescue.
