ICICIDIrect. USE and LOOSE
by RG on Jan 26, 2006 03:40 PM

I am discovering that there are serious problems in ICICIDirect trading platform. There might be a huge fraud going on without anyone's knowledge. I will try to post some details later after I get the time to carefully consolidate them.

For beginners, here are a few instances: MY calculations by a 10 digit casio calculator on a stock transaction showed a commission of a few paisas less than what they charged me. When contacted customer services, they accepted the mistake (gave a complaint nunmber) but did send a followup communication. I was too busy to fight for a few paisas. The thing that amazes me is that all the calculations are done by a computer program. Even with a 32 bit precision) such error is likely to be out of the tolerance range. So did I hit the (in)famous "pentium bug" on their computer, or the software had a bug? If the software had a bug, it should have the same bug in every transaction and every transaction should have been off by a few paisas -- which is certainly not the case. Another possibility that comes to my mind is a malicious software that randomly eats a few paisas from some transactions and transfers them to another account. Such frauds have happened
