Re: Re: Dhoni is a far better captain than Ganguly
by Amit Mahajan on Jun 05, 2009 09:18 PM

The series was finally won by India 2-0, and both the matches were won against the captainship of Dhoni. This was the end of the kangaroo dominance in the test arena and as a result of this series; the kangaroos were beaten convincingly by the mighty South Africans at the end of the year.
The Kangaroo series was followed by the England tour of India, A tour which can never be forgotten, due to the terrorist attacks on Mumbai. This seven match series was supposed to be called off after 5 ODI’s. The series was won 5-0 by India. Then the English side came back for the test series and Dhoni’s men again won the 2 test series 1-0. When Dhoni won the first test against England, He became the first Indian captain to win the first 4 tests he captained.
The success rate for Dhoni in ODI’s is more than 60% and he has won 4 out of 5 test matches he has captained. He is really not bothered about the result of the match and enjoys it to every bit. He gives the credit of victory to his teammates but tries to absorb the blame of defeat on his shoulder.
Dhoni gives all the support to the youngsters. We can see the way Gambhir, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Raina, Pathan Brothers enjoy his support. Dhoni has all the respect for his seniors as well. Can’t forget the test match in which he handed over the captaincy to Dada in his last test match.
The world number 1 ODI batsman has become a revelation in all forms of cricket and I, as a diehard Indian fan would love to see it for a long time.
