Like Gangully & Dravid, Kapil Dev & Ravi Shastri had also done a lot for Indian cricket team. So shall we recall them too.
Just understand one thing mate... ODI & T20 is about young & energetic blood & not for old horses who have already ran a lot.
If sacrifce was the case players like Ajay Jadeja, Novjyot Singh Siddhu, etc. too were sacrified when young Gangully's & Dravid's were accomodated in team few years ago...
