What Ponting desires and what he does in reality is at variance. He wants Australian Cricket team to be most loved, it is very difficult to see that happening. Most of the great people and players who represented Australia, in the past have cried themselves hoarse stating that they feel ashamed by the behavior exhibited by the Australian team on the field. The most respected Mr. Peter Roebuck has rightly called for Ponting to be removed. The IPL should also withdraw their contracts with the Australian players more especially Ponting, Symmonds, Hayden, Clarke, McGrath, and others who have tried to act smart on the field and off it.
