Dravid should be used as an opener from now on. With 4 middle order players over 30 the time has come for a bit of succession planning.
A great way to start this is to support Dravid as opener and not to call for his blood everytime he fails. He's doing an unfamiliar role which he doesn't really want to do at the moment but it's what the team needs and it frees up a spot in the middle order for younger players. Therefore in the interests of the future of Indian cricket Dravid must continue to open but be supported by the selectors the whole way. There will be initial failures from him but we should ignore the morons calling for his head at the moment.
Meanwhile there should be competition for the No. 6 spot. Yuvraj is not stepping up at the moment but he needs to be given time. Our brilliant Board denied him a practice match and are expecting him and Dhoni to set the world on fire when these two haven't even played a Test in Aus before. It ain't gonna happen.
But it should be made clear to Yuvraj there are plenty of other batsmen like Badrinath, Tiwary, Rohit Sharma etc breathing down his neck. This way he's unlikely to get complacent.
