Dont talk crap here without any basis. In earlier days there were more players from Mumbai than other states but in the last 30 years there have been many occasions where there were more players from other states than Mumbai. During late 70s and early 80s and also in 90s there were 7 players from Karnataka, in 80s and 90s there were 5 players from Delhi, in 1979 there were 4 players from TN. Players from smaller towns started playing much before 2000. If players are coming up from smaller towns it is not due to one person but because cricket has spread there due to exposure and the infrastructure is improving.
