RE:Well done Kumble to expose the indian batting weakness
by shatrudhaprasad on Apr 04, 2008 08:45 AM

Well, if the team can bat on the 'red-hot' surface in Perth, (that's what Australians described it as) then why can't we play a comparatively less-bowler friendly surface at home. The pitch can't be any excuse for you bad display. These batsmen are after all supposed to be the best in the world. The fact is that our wickets are useless and just producing sehwag's. It's Ok if you want to have players who can improvise, but you do need players who are technically superior. Otherwise what you will get are news items like 'Australia lost Ashes in 2005' and 'Indian team got bowled out for 76'.

No doubt, it's entertaining to see Sehwag smashing out fours and sixes, but first a batsman should be technically correct, and then he can go about doing all kinds of improvisations.
