yesterday, i read the article; although i agreed with many of the points discussed, still i thought article was untimely or unwanted.
but today, after knowing the plight of hockey players, especially after statement from the hockey coach joquim who got india to three back to back victories, now i think, that even ckt fans shud come out of their dream and ponder over the factuality.
pl look at the way our so called heroes whum we treated as god, were given a rude treatment by Maharashtra politicians esp. NCP in Wankhede stadium. players toil on the field, but officials are there to take credit for their achievement. it is nothing but commercialisation of ckt, and now politicisation of it. fans r taken for a ride emotionally by the media for increasing their TRPs for getting more ad revenue.
secondly pl ask abt the fan behaviour to Mr. Wadekar who won series in 1971 in wi and eng. the welcome given to their team and subsequently when they lost and the welcome they got from fans.
even now, once the euphoria is over, the players will be brought back to earth, when they start losing against ausi even in a single match.
so it is for fans to understand the gimmicks of commercials players including bcci officials hand in glove with the media. we give cricketers as well as other sports personalities equal treatment so that no one feels humiliated.
i firmly believe, t20 performance was a brilliant n needs to be pondered over, let our players be encouraged n praised for their a
