RE:new opening pair
by M subramaniam on Oct 18, 2007 11:02 AM

If India is to turn up as a top ODI team serious thought about the batting order is to be made. For example in yesterday's game Pathan should have been sent earlier so that a few lusty hits would have brought the pressure down and there would also have been security of wickets remaining. The Indian think tank should not be rigid and flexible batting line up is the answer to the inconsistent batting performance of Indians. When there is a huge score to chase it is not necessary that the tail enders should bat only last. Send one ore two tail enders up the order preserve batsmen for onslaught at the end overs. Hope Dhoni who seems to be moulding as a good captain would also take up novel methods like this to tap the fullest potential of this Indian team
