Right and Wrong
by Vamsi Vanteru on Oct 10, 2007 02:49 PM

What Gavin said had both some rights and some wrongs. Though you have to agree with most of what he said, what I have also realised is though Sreesanth seemed to have lost his cool, I have also never seen the Australians react so
much to an opponent in recent times, even during Steve Waugh's time. This perhaps has shown that in the face of uncontrolled aggression the Australians have also lost the plot of their controlled banter and have been reacting to the Indian aggression rather than sticking to their Banter. Only thing which still acts for them is that their team is genuinely the strongest team in the world today and they would be willing most of their games with or without banter. But the few losses they come across will pain them more when it happens against uncontrolled aggression. And the fact that they lost a game at chandigarh from position of strength goes on to show that maybe this uncontrolled aggression is actually getting to them. And when a team loses a couple of games tahts when the so called cool a team displaces goes for a six. Dont forget that the youngsters in the team who hail from smaller towns get galvanised when they see raw action on the field rather than matured chess play. So who knows this Sreesanths behaviour as irritating as it may seem today might actually give returns in the long run.
