RE:RE:Wrong umpiring
by deewana parwana on Nov 19, 2007 02:27 PM

Suresh Shastri seems to be too inclined to give decisions against Indian players. There were far too many incidents in the past and even in the fifth and final ODI. He rejected many legitimate LBW appeals by Indian bowlers. But look at the decision given against Gambhir. Cricket rule states that whenever the ball pitches first away from the off/ leg stamp and eventually hits the batsman on the pad, batsman should get benifit of doubt. In Gambhir's case, (1) the ball pitched much away from left hander's off stamp, and (2) hit his pad above knee roll. My gut feeling is Suresh Shastri in his ambition to get elected in 'Elite Umpire's Panel' is giving deliberate decisions against Indians to prove his neutrality.
