COUNTY CRICKET?
by john jacob on Jul 31, 2007 06:01 AM

Every cricketer who plays in county cricket is of the opinion that county cricket helps them. If that is case, why england is not able to produce outstanding cricketers like Sachin, Akram,
Inzamam, Murlitharan, Kumble. They have not been able to produce a single cricketer worth its name after the exit of Botham and Gower. Had county cricket been that competitive like the Sheffield Shield, England should have atleast won one World Cup. County cricket only helps swing bowlers that too because of conditions rather than format of the game itself.
