We have a winning eleven
by Mohan Kalyanasundaram on Feb 12, 2007 02:40 AM

Our captain alongwith selectors and BCCI are trying to get some new cricket rules introduced at the ICC urgently. BCCI is working hard with other cricket playing nations to get this rule passed before the world-cup.

The new rule is, %u201CAny player will be allowed to play more than once in the same inning.%u201D What does this mean?

Viru Sehwag will play twice in an inning to satisfy the appetite of our board, selectors, and Rahul Dravid.
Irfan Pathan will play thrice in an inning, which means he will deliver 30 on target overs to the satisfaction of everyone listed above
Sachin Tendulkar will get to play 4 times in an inning since he is a genius and Sunil Gavaskar has blessed him to play for a few more millenniums. The more and more you get to bat, the more and more you score!
With Rahul Dravid pitching in as captain, we have one single place left in the playing eleven. That will be decided between Dhoni and Karthic since we need a wicket keeper.

Rahul Dravid (1)
Sehwag (2 times = 2 players)
Irfan Pathan (3 times = 3 players)
Tendulkar (4 times = 4 players)[he is a prodigy, he deserves more chances]
Dhoni or Karthic (1)

Total = 11 (Eleven), Anil Kumble (12th man)

Irfan will bowl 30 overs (After all he has performed in the past)
Tendulkar 10 overs
Sehwag 10 overs

Note: Sometimes, Rahul may decide to keep wickets. In that case he will bring in Anil Kumble instead of Dhonie/Karthic as another strike bowler. Since there is 3 more to be named for world-cup squad, Rahul, selectors, and BCCI want to try out the new rule more by letting Rahul, Sehwag, and Irfan play one more time.
