No Foreign Coach needed
by Venkatesa Prabhu on Dec 03, 2007 10:28 AM

Yes, I completely agree with Ajit Wadekar. These foreign coaches come with little commitment and at extraordinary prices, would bad mouth and demoralize the team and then go away to the next assignment. Greg Chappel after the bad experience (from both BCCI point of view as also that of Greg) has chosen to coach a state level team AFTER COACHING THE NATIONAL TEAM. This simply goes to show that money is everything and everything else matters little. At least Sandip Patil has a good track record as also Mohinder Amarnath. And Venkatesh Prasad seems to be doing a decent job. All this leads to confirm that an Indian coach can and is probably as good as any foreign one. And Gary Kirsten even before he accepts his assignment has already blamed BCCI for the delay in offering him the position and has stated that he will be available only for the second half of the tour. Do you need any more indications?
