Late Shri Hanumant Singh
by Shishir Rai on Nov 29, 2006 12:09 PM

May the Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul of "Late Shri Hanumant Singh ji".
He was truly a Great not only by scoring the century in his first test but also by his class, culture and commitment displayed for the game.Playing test in his days was based on the camps a player represented. Since he was considered Pataudi's man, he fell short of favour of the then selectors. He was one of the most stylished batsman till G. Vishwanath arrived on the scene.
Late Hanumant Singh ji contributed a great deal of his energy, knowledge, time towards the first National Cricket Academy. May God help his bereaved family to the normalcy after his loss to them. Cdr. S.K. Rai (IN-Retd.)
