Sending back Pathan
by Vineesh Vedsen on Jan 07, 2007 09:54 PM

Hi,

It was an absolutely wrong decision, like most others enforced by Dravid on Indian cricket.

One wonders at how many gaffes can Mr. Rahul Dravid make at a time.

His capacity is unsatiable and the sufferer is Indian cricket.

First he wanted to keep a left hander top of the order to keep Saurav out of the team.

He coaxed Pathan into taking more responsibilities as a captain. Poor fellow did it with rich dividends. But in doing this, when he started losing his edge as a bowler, he was subjected to real torture by Dravid on the Windies tour.

This ensured that Pathan keeps going down all the way. When he is totally undone as a bowler, he has been asked to go back.

It is time Dravid was pulled up for all his inuendoes in the last one year. The simplest thing is sack him as captain, if India is to make any impact in the World Cup.

Anyway he has been largely cut to size with Pawar and Vengsarkar getting in Saurav and Laxman into the team. Obviously that was not on Dravid's agenda. They asked him to sit out of last 2 ODIs against SA too.

Vineesh
