Is Chappell a liar?
by k k jain on Sep 28, 2005 01:15 PM

The real issue before the Indian cricket is to bring in new blood and retire the old guards who are solely surviving on their old glory and achievements.

The old gaurds are trying to stick on to the team by playing all types of games including politics. They are now more adept at these things rather then show of the skills with the willow.

Chappell was quick to grasp this real issue, and he tried to stop this. But he is not as smart and experienced in playing the politics as the old players are. He would therefore have to swallow his own words and continue as coach or quit.

It is the boards job to set right this problem. But the board is hotter bed of politics again. They would do nothing on the real issue.

With above situation, there is no way we can improve our cricket. The biggest sufferer in the process is the rejuvenation of cricket. We would continue with the same old guards and there would be no entry point for the new skills.
